Living with a rare disease like Glanzmann Thrombasthenia (GT) can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. Finding a supportive community can make all the difference in navigating the challenges of this condition. At the Glanzmann’s Research Foundation (GRF), we know that connection, shared experiences, and support are vital in improving quality of life.
A strong support system helps individuals with GT and their families feel understood, empowered, and less alone. Connecting with others who share similar experiences provides emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of belonging.
One of the best ways to engage with the GT community is through our Facebook support group. This space allows individuals and families to share their stories, ask questions, and learn from others who truly understand what living with GT is like. Whether seeking advice, sharing a personal experience, or simply looking for encouragement, our online community is here for you.
With Rare Disease Day and GT Awareness Day right around the corner, now is the perfect time to unite as a community. These awareness days provide an opportunity to educate others, advocate for better resources, and celebrate the strength of those living with rare conditions like GT.
Share Your Story: Post on social media, blog, or speak to your local community about GT.
Participate in Awareness Events: Attend online or local events dedicated to rare diseases and bleeding disorders.
Encourage Others to Join Our Support Group: A growing community means more shared knowledge and support.
Donate or Fundraise: Help us continue our quest to find/fund a cure for Glanzmann Thrombasthenia. Gene therapy has made a future without GT a real possibility. Learn more about Dr. Wilcox’s research here.
At GRF, we believe that no one should face GT alone. We can create a more supportive and informed community by fostering connections and raising awareness. Let’s stand together during Rare Disease Day and GT Awareness Day to show the world the power of unity and resilience.
Together, we can make a lasting impact!
